Apple Watch Gestures Now Control Lumos Helmet Bicycle Signals


Cyclists that own and Apple Watch may be interested to know that new functionality has been rolled out this week providing the ability to control the signalling technology on the Lumos Helmet cycling helmet. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the newly upgraded Lumos bike helmet.

The newly added features are backwards compatible for all existing Lumos Helmet Cycling helmets and have been rolled out as a firmware upgrade which is available to download and install for free. Features of the new Lumos Helmet firmware update include the ability to enjoy “Gesture Activated Turn Signals. We’ve developed an Apple Watch app! Utilizing gesture recognition algorithms the Lumos app on your Apple Watch can now sense when you are giving a hand signal, and activate the turn signal on the helmet accordingly”. As well as – “Automatic Ride Tracking.

By simply turning your helmet on and going for your ride, the Lumos app on your iPhone will automatically record your ride activity. Better yet, the ride data can be upload seamlessly to your Strava and Apple Health account”.
