Users can pay electricity, landline, broadband, gas and postpaid bills for more than 100 billers present in the country. The list includes BSES, Tata Power, BESCOM, BSNL, Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Jio, and ACT. Amazon has announced the introduction of a new bill payments facility on its platform, Amazon Pay, in India. The company has revealed that Pay users can now pay their utility bills using its platform.

As per the company, users can pay electricity, landline, broadband, gas and postpaid bills for more than 100 billers present in the country. The list includes BSES, Tata Power, BESCOM, BSNL, Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Jio, and ACT. Further, users can also use Amazon Pay to make payments for mobile and DTH recharges. Additionally, users can also pay for credit/debit card bills, book movie tickets and more.

Amazon has revealed that Amazon Pay customers can avail 10 per cent cashback up to Rs 75 on electricity bill payments. Similarly, users will get 10 per cent up to Rs 50 on landline, broadband and postpaid bills. Additionally, the company has revealed that users opting for mobile recharge of minimum Rs 198, will get a cashback of Rs 50, while users opting for a minimum recharge of Rs 398 will get Rs 75 discount.

Commenting on the launch, Shariq Plasticwala, Director, Payments, said "The launch of bill payments on Amazon reinforces Amazon's commitment to Indian customers to provide them new categories and a wide selection of services. We shall continue to innovate on behalf of customers as we simplify the payments experience in India. We now have all the major categories across mobile recharges and bill payments available for customers."

Previously, the brand introduced Alexa Cast feature that basically enables users to control music playback on their Echo speakers through their smartphones. The feature is available through the Amazon Music app on iOS and Android devices and lets users play their Amazon Prime Music India playlist to any Alexa-enabled speaker for a seamless music experience.
