Powered by last year’s Snapdragon 835 SoC, the Tab S4 will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 256GB of onboard storage. This means the device is more than a mid-range tablet that performs relatively faster than most of the tablets in the market. The S4 run-on Android 8.1 Oreo and is fuelled by a 7,300mAh battery which is enabled with 15W fast charging that’s claimed to work for 16 hours straight on video playback.

There’s a 13-megapixel primary camera at the back which an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter works well for selfies and video conferencing. The Tab S4 also supports an iris scanner which when paired with the front camera provides facial recognition through Intelligent Scan feature. Additional features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE (optional), Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS for connectivity as well as a Book Cover keyboard which can convert the tablet device into a 2-in-1 laptop.

The Tab S4 is bundled with the new S-Pen, a fairly large stylus which has been redesigned to be noticeably distinguishing. The stylus can make use of the tablet as a sketchpad or allow the tablet surface to be used as a trackpad. There’s a Screen-Off Memo feature which allows users to take notes, navigate, translate and organise their notes through the default Samsung Notes app.

Samsung has also brought in Samsung DeX for the first time in a tablet which lets users connect the Tab S4 to a larger external display through an HDMI to USB-C multi-port adapter. DeX allows the tablet device to offer a full-fledged PC experience and also allows a quick pass between Android and desktop interface when connected.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will come in Black and White colour variants with a price of $649.99 (approx. Rs 44,400) and $749.99 (approx. Rs 51,200) for the 64GB and 256GB WiFi-only variants. Pricing is unclear on the LTE-enabled versions.
