Xiaomi released the second generation Mi Notebook Pro earlier this year and now it has announced an upgrade to the Mi Notebook PC. The new laptop will be powered by 8th Gen Intel processors and an NVIDIA graphics on a 15.6-inch form factor to be sold for starting price of 3,999 yuan (approx. Rs 40,800).
According to GizmoChina, the new Mi Notebook comes powered by either a Core i5 or Core i7 8th generation Intel processors and will feature a 15.6-inch Full HD screen. The laptop comes in three variants, two of which run on Core i5 chip with 4GB and 8GB RAM versions. The most expensive model features a Core i7 processor with 8GB RAM. Xiaomi is providing all three models with 128GB SSD as well as a 1TB HDD storage along with an NVIDIA GeForce MX110 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM.
The design of the new Mi Notebook is similar to the Mi Notebook Air but just slightly thicker which could be due to the double fan double ventilation cooling technology and the inclusion of a 2+2 heat pipe which helps in dissipating heat away from the laptop. The machine comes with a full sized keyboard with numerical keypad and dedicated keys for browser, calculator and scroll lock.
While being stacked up a little below the Mi Notebook Pro, the processor on the new Mi Notebook still offers a 40 percent boost in performance and the same can be said for the MX100 graphics card. Other than that, the laptop comes inbuilt with two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, an SD card slot, an HDMI port, Ethernet and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There are two 3-watt speakers with support for Dolby Audio surround sound technology.
