Honor Magic 2 Mobile Phone with 7nm Kirin 980 Chipset & 40W Magic Charge Support

After launching the Honor Play in China and India, the company now launched its most affordable Kirin 970-powered smartphone in Europe. At the end of the presentation, the company teased about the Honor Magic 2 smartphone. It is the successor to the Honor Magic launched two years ago in China with several AI features. The front of the Magic 2 is completely occupied by the display. Honor is calling it is as “Magic FullView Display” and there won’t any bezels or chin.

As seen on the OPPO Find X, the front camera will be hidden and the user has to slide-out to capture selfies. From the teaser image, we can’t confirm whether the back cameras also be hidden or not. On the Find X, the user has to slide out to use both the front and rear cameras. While showing the demo, the camera manually pulled the slider. We assume the device to be in a very initial stage and the final production unit will automatically slide-out as seen on Vivo NEX or OPPO Find X.

The Honor Magic 2 is also confirmed to come with 40W Magic Charge support. The 40W Huawei power adapter was earlier spotted during 3C certification. The Magic Charge speeds should be better or at least on par with OPPO’s Super VOOC flash charge technology. While the Huawei is expected to launch the Mate 20 smartphones with the all-new 7nm Kirin 980 chipset, Honor Magic 2 is now confirmed to sport the latest flagship HiSilicon chipset.
