Huawei P20 Pro will soon get 960 fps slow-motion, zoom gestures Review

Huawei flagship will soon be seeded with an update porting the Galaxy S9 Plus' best feature - slow-motion videos, at a frame rate of 960 fps and a resolution capping in at 720p which is the same as the one on the Samsung flagship. The update will also change the way you interact with the phone's optical zoom.

The best-rated camera on a smartphone is about to get even better. The Huawei P20 Pro which was launched in April as a direct competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy S9 Plus comes with a triple camera setup that’s capable of capturing pictures at any possible condition, thus scoring the highest points on the DxOMark chart. While the device clicked an impressive set of still pictures, it’s videography skills weren’t quite on par with other devices, which is all supposed to change in the near future.

When made a reality, the phone will be only second to Sony’s 2018 Xperia flagship which peaked the facility at 1080p recording in the same frame rate. The feature, however, would have a limitation and will only be able to record a fraction of a second or in the roundabouts of 0.1 s which will then be slowed down to spread across five or seconds. This will need the user to be wary of the moment and tap the button at the moment you want the action to be slowed down. It’s unclear whether the Huawei P20 Pro’s camera will get something like the Smart Detection feature that was pushed to the S9 Plus for detecting the right moment to capture the slow-mo video.

The update will also add another feature to the P20 Pro’s camera, overhauling the way you interact with the optical zoom. Swiping within the viewfinder will let you zoom in or out of the target smoothly so as to let users choose the right amount of zoom for a particular scene, acting like a smilier feature which was seeded to the LG V30.
