OnePlus recently rolled out a new OxygenOS 5.1.9 update for its latest flagship device, the OnePlus 6. Now, the company is adding a new feature in this version of Oxygen OS, dubbed as Sleep Standby optimization.
The company claims that the new feature will intelligently identify a user’s sleep pattern based on the phone's usage. The phone will then turn off the network during specific periods of inactivity, which effectively reduces standby power consumption.
Further, the phone will automatically cancel any network restrictions and get the phone out of Sleep Standby just before user wakes up so that he/she won't miss any notifications such as news updates, emails etc. The new feature does not come on by default. Users need to go to Settings > Battery > battery optimization > click the three dots > Advanced optimization > Sleep Standby optimization to turn on the new feature.
The OxygenOS 5.1.9 stable build brings the biggest notable change till yet and that’s the integration of the Google Lens. This allows users to quickly access the image search feature through their OnePlus 6’s camera app, enabling information of objects right from the camera interface.
