HMD Global recently announced the launch of its new X-series with Nokia X5 smartphone in China. Now the company has teased the launch of Nokia X5 in global markets. Nokia X5 expected to launch globally with new moniker Nokia 5.1 Plus.
The global launch has been confirmed by HMD Global’s Product Manager Juho Sarvikas on his official twitter handle. When Juho announced the launch of X5 in China on Twitter, a follower requested the phone be made available outside of China and the reply from the company's Product Manager confirmed the launch in global markets.
Having said that, Juho Sarvikas has confirmed that the X5 will indeed be launched outside China, though with his tweet, he has not revealed when and which country will get the X5 first. His reply is referring to a poll that was created back when the Nokia X6 was announced.
In China, the device comes with the price of 999 Yuan (approx. Rs 10,200) for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage option and 1,399 yuan (approx. Rs 14,300) for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant.
The Nokia X5 features a 5.86-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. It will be the second phone with a notched display from HMD Global after Nokia X6. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo upgradable to Android P and it features fingerprint sensor at the back panel.
The phone is powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The Nokia X5 comes in 3GB/4GB of RAM with 32GB/64GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro SD card slot.
