Xiaomi has announced a higher variant of Xiaomi Mi 8 with 8GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. Xiaomi Mi 8 was launched along with Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE smartphones in China in May this year. The company initially announced the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE was announced with 6 GB with 128 GB storage.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 new variant is priced at 3,299 Yuan which is approx. Rs 33,500. It comes in Black and Blue colour variants and it is available for purchase through Mi.com and JD.com.
Apart from more memory storage now, the new variant has the same set of specifications of the existing 6GB variant. Xiaomi Mi 8 features 6.21-inch full-HD+ (1080x2248 pixels) AMOLED display with 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back.

Fueled by a 3,400mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0+, the Xiaomi Mi 8 has dual rear cameras with two 12-megapixel sensors with 1.4-micron pixels, four-axis OIS, and dual pixel autofocus. For the front, it has a 20-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture.
The dual-SIM phone runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 10. For connectivity, it has features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board include accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, infrared, and a proximity sensor. The handset measures 154.9x74.8x7.6mm.
